8:00 AM – The "Did I Charge That Battery?" Panic
My day starts not with a serene sunrise, but with me pacing around my living room doing a mental inventory that would make NASA jealous.
Batteries? Charged. Memory cards? Formatted. Lenses? Cleaned. Emergency snacks? Packed. I double-check (and triple-check) every bag. If a camera battery can fail, it will try to fail on a Saturday. Not on my watch.
11:00 AM – Chaos, Hairspray, and Detail Shots
I arrive at the venue, and the energy is instantly 100 mph. Mimosas are flowing, three different hair dryers are buzzing, and someone is inevitably searching for a steamer.
While everyone is getting ready, I slip into ninja mode. I hunt down the dress, the rings, and the stationery to take those clean, magazine-worthy detail shots. Pro-tip: Finding a window with good light in a crowded bridal suite is an Olympic sport, but I take my medals seriously.
1:30 PM – The "First Look" & The Pre-Game Tears
This is where the magic starts. Whether it's a first look between the couple or a reveal with dad, this is pure, unscripted emotion.
My job here? Be invisible, keep my finger on the shutter, and quietly dab my own eyes behind the viewfinder so I can actually see to focus.
3:30 PM – The Ceremony: High Stakes, Zero Do-Overs
There are no takes two in weddings. When the music swells and the doors open, my adrenaline is pumping.
I’m constantly scanning: Watching the groom’s reaction, tracking the bride, checking the lighting, and dodging that one enthusiastic uncle who brought his own professional camera and is stepping into the aisle. (We love you, Uncle Bob, but please stay in your seat!)
5:30 PM – Wrangling the Troops (Family Photos)
If you’ve ever tried to organize 30 distracted family members who all want to head straight to the open bar, you know the true power of a wedding photographer.
This is where my "fun but firm" voice comes out. We breeze through family formals in record time so everyone can go get their cocktail on.
7:00 PM – Golden Hour Magic
This is hands-down my favorite part of the entire day. The sun is setting, the crazy schedule slows down, and I sneak the newlyweds away for 20 minutes of pure, uninterrupted magic.
No family, no timeline stress—just two newlyweds glowing, laughing, and realizing, "Whoa, we just got married." ### 9:00 PM – Dance Floor Ninjas & Bad Dance Moves
Once the party starts, the flash comes out. I am dodging flying glow sticks, catching epic lip-sync battles, and capturing your college best friends doing the low-drop on the dance floor.
My feet are burning, my back is sore, but the energy is so infectious that I completely forget I've been on my feet for 10 hours.
11:30 PM – The Real Unsung Work Begins
I drive home, kick off my shoes (sweet relief!), and immediately... go straight to my computer.
Before I even think about sleeping, I start backing up thousands of photos onto multiple drives. Only when every single memory is safely duplicated do I finally crash into bed.
The Verdict?
It’s exhausting, fast-paced, and wildly unpredictable. But getting to capture one of the happiest days of someone's life? I wouldn't trade it for the world.
